New York City jazz trumpet player Pablo Masis has performed at New York venues including Joe’s Pub, The Blue Note, Arlene’s Grocery, The Baryshnikov Arts Center, The Waldorf Astoria, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Irving Plaza among others. In addition to his own group showcasing Pablo’s original music around New York City, he has performed with a variety of New York based ensembles including Kyle Saulnier’s Awakening Orchestra, Bobby Sanabria’s Multiverse Big Band, and the David White Jazz Orchestra. He is currently teaching at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
He is touring with his quartet in support of his new album “Thought and Memory”. It will be released on September 8th 2023 on Brooklyn Jazz Underground (BJU) Records. This album consists of seven Masis compositions. The first four were written in New York City and the final three tracks are a three movement suite that he began working on during his time in Kabul Afghanistan in 2015.
