The alleys of downtown Sioux City are coming to life again with the sEVENTH annual Alley Art Festival on Saturday, September 20 in the alley ways between 4th & 6th and Pierce and Nebraska streets!!

Explore Sioux City’s refreshed outdoor gallery of 140+ murals, support regional art vendors, and enjoy unforgettable live music from both local and nationally touring acts, kids alley, local food trucks, beer gardens and more!!

Tickets will be available at the gates for $5 each with free admission for kids 12 & under! Gates will be located on 4th, 5th, and 6th Streets!

THE MURALS

Think big! Or small! There’s room for them all! Artists of all experience levels, backgrounds, styles, etc are invited to apply to add their original mural to the Alley Art alleys between 4th, 6th, Pierce and Nebraska Streets!

Your work can join Sioux City’s largest outdoor gallery that is home to 140+ murals (27 new in 2024!) from local and regional artists! Murals have a chance to receive Best of Show, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable Mention, People’s Choice, and Vangarde Board Award awarding more than $3,000 in prizes!

Take a chance and submit your original idea by July 27 for consideration! Free to apply.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee of regional artists in late July. Selected muralists will receive 4 quarts of paint and primer to help get them started.

Murals are refreshed regularly and can be viewed year round. As the festival gets closer, wander the wonders of the alleys regularly to see how the alleys transform!

ART VENDORS

Set up shop and show off your original one-of-a-kind, wacky creations on Saturday, September 20!

Art vendors bring much inspiration to the Alley Art Festival! Visitors can browse through 30+ vendor spaces and shop for beautiful handcrafted creations and original art! The vendor area will be located on Fifth Street from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Submit your application and $50 art vendor fee by August 24!

THE MUSIC

The Live Music for 2025 will include a variety of acts sure to keep the party going late into the night! We’re curating a groovy line up for the 4th Street Stage that we can’t wait to share! Stay tuned!!

Join us on 4th Street for amazing live music starting at 3:30pm and enjoy live music throughout the alleys all day long!

It takes a lot of hands and some seriously awesome volunteers to bring the Alley Art Festival to life! We’d love your help with setup, activities, mural support, and more. Volunteers get a cool volunteer t-shirt, free admission to the festival, and refreshments in the volunteer area!

FOOD VENDORS

Gobblestop, Diamond Thai, and another festival favorite will have their food trucks on site ready to satisfy hungry festival attendees offering tasty meals and snacks to keep you energized all day long!

KID’S Zone

The Alley Art Festival will have many fun and creative activities for the young and young at heart! There will be hands on art projects, sidewalk chalk and a wall that kid’s can paint their own mural! Children 12 and under with a parent or guardian get FREE admission to the Festival!

The Alley Art Festival is back for it’s SEVENTH year! The Festival is a street art festival that provides local artists with a platform to show their skills by creating murals in downtown Sioux City alleys. This year the event will fill the alleys between Pierce and Nebraska Streets and Fourth and Sixth Streets. Organized by Vangarde Arts, the Alley Art Festival reinvents urban spaces with public arts and enhances the walkability between Historic Fourth Street and Historic Pearl Street Districts. Over 2,000 visitors, young and old, filled the festival area and enjoyed live mural painting, a vendor area where you can browse and buy art from local artists and outstanding live music from local and national touring performers! This is your opportunity to be part of this exciting and fun, family friendly event.
